Thank you for stopping by! The Simply Unique Market changed its name in 2025. Prior to that, it was known as the Chic and Unique Market, which was founded in 2017 by the husband-and-wife team of Justin and Danyel. They have been in the event and market planning business since 2014 through their company, GLP Events. With a shared passion for small businesses, they wanted to create a wonderful market that could showcase the talented vendors they had met over the years. Both born and raised Downriver, they knew they wanted to establish a special market in the Downriver area. Having worked closely with Brownstown Township in the past, they recognized that it would be the perfect location for their first market.

The first market took place in April 2017. The weather was extremely cold, and there was even snow! Despite the miserable conditions, about 75 vendors participated, and thousands of customers braved the weather to shop. From that point on, Justin and Danyel knew they had created a fantastic place where customers and small businesses could come together. Over the years, the market has expanded to many locations and continues to grow across Michigan. Today, the markets feature between 100 and 150 unique vendors and attract thousands of wonderful shoppers and small business supporters.

None of this would be possible without the amazing vendors who set up, the delightful customers who come to shop, and the hardworking team members who help make each market a special event.
